It is a small pic, I downloaded it from a friends sight.  This was her view of Lake Minocqua yesterday from SaveMore.  Only in Minocqua can you grocery shop with such good views

After 3 weeks of no rain we finally had a sprinkle.  It was actually nice to see dark clouds this morning even if they did not produce much.  The stream down at Hilltop is barely moving and sand is starting to appear in a few boat slips.  Time for some rain!  Maybe by this weekend

Fall means one thing, the Northwoods rumbles for 3 days for a good cause.  Thousands and Thousands of Harleys gather from Tomahawk, north to raise money for MDA

DSC00079

Even Jacobi’s got in on the celebration

DSC00048

The Police were not to be left out and were cruising on Harley’s as well.  Hwy 51 had more cops patroling than I see any other time of the year

What is with the new fashion statement Troy is making with my old towel supply?  Is he feeling cold and getting ready for winter?  Is he trying out for the community play version of the Hunchback of Notre Dame….

DSC00023

Both of those reasons sound better than the actual reason.  Craig is returning from Phoenix on Saturday with the goal of a new roof on Holiday.  In the meantime, the new roof needs to be hoisted up the ladder on top of Troy and Steve’s shoulders.

Bundles making it into place awaiting Craig’s return

Besides Holiday getting a new roof, Kaubashine has been getting a fresh coat of brown paint around the edges

Troy was thrilled to beat me to the camera to snap this picture of the Pileated Woodpecker hanging from our cherry tree by the office

Sunrise and I headed to the lake to find these interlopers loitering on the raft.  Looked like a late night drinking party that lasted a little too long

DSC00009

Hey nothing happened last night… we are innocent really… hiccup hiccup

DSC00013

Hey guys lets get our stories straight… we took a boat out to the raft and Ed stole it and left us all out here all night.  No hiccuping or we are busted..  Anyone got some mouth wash….

DSC00012

This picture is also begging for a caption.  My caption is “Hey Ethal I think it is your mom walking down the beach steps wondering where you slept last night… Oppps you were supposed to head up at sunrise we are soo busted”

DSC00016

1, 2, 3 jump in..  think we can swim straight

DSC00018

Race across the lake, watch out for the Muskie’s and Ethal’s mom….  Those are not police lights I see coming after underage drinking party on the raft… swim fast and don’t look back…. look normal and swim straight maybe they will pass by

Barb Ellis made a comment that she enjoyed the misty lake morning pics so these are for her from her buddy Poe.  I uploaded this one big for all you screen saver folks out there

These were all taken from Kaubashine’s dock.  Only thing that would have made it prettier is if there was color in the trees, which is right around the corner

For a short time we had these big flakes coming down which made for quite a winter wonderland.  Looking up at the trees was quite a site to see.

You could almost hear the big flakes hitting the ground

This pic is looking out by The Perch, it was coming down so heavy you could not see across the lake

Snowmobilers and skiers checking out today are reporting the trails in great condition.  We also had snowshoers out blazing trails across the road in the deep snow reporting in cold but fun times

We would like to report sucess at Basketball tournaments even with the referees spotted working in the opponents food concessions.  I would think that there should be a rule that ref’s for a basketeball tournament not come out of the stands from the home team…… Just my need to blow off some steam on the blog

Rumor has it the nice big walleye seen in the picture was caught by Austin who will be guiding on Lower Kaubashine soon

Nice Catch!

One of the smaller northerns they kept had to be kept due to the fact that it was bitten by a muskie on its way up the ice hole.  It had very distinctive fresh bite marks.  Too bad the Muskie did not follow the Northern up the hole.  A fun weekend of fishing was had by the whole Wagner Crew.

Coming tomorrow Storm Pics and Downhill at Camp 10
