Yep it snowed last night…. I love the 4 seasons and the beauty of all 4 seasons.  Mixing the beauty of the previous season with the current season though is not my favorite…. but I tried to find the beauty in the day….

Trees bent from the weight of the wet snow.  I am surprised to managed to  not loose power with all the limbs and trees weighed down

Lilies of the Valley buried in the snow.  They have not bloomed out so I hope they are ok and insulated in the snow when we go to the mid 20’s tonight

Our rates lower to the lowest of the year through mid week and weekend.  Weekend rates start at 110/night for our regular sized 2bdrs and 125/night for Birchwood.  I also rent out our 3bdrs when needed to smaller groups starting at 125/night.  Nice time to come up and enjoy the snow in warmer temps.  Skiing last weekend I could have done in a sweatshirt no coat needed.  That is my favorite type of skiing

My favorite pic of the day.  We got an additional 5 inches of snow last night and this morning.  The trees were loaded and it was beautiful to look out off the hill at the snow still coming down through the pines.  Good news is our problems with our plow truck are on the way to being fixed.  Truck has a new exhaust system which was planned for maintence.  The plow on the other hand is a different story.  Troy and Steve spent an entire day last week getting the plow off the truck and up to the shop.  We are at the mercy of the mechanic at the plow shop who is swamped at the moment.  Good thing the folks coming today have 4 wheel drive, as it is going to be a few days yet before the resort gets plowed out.  Maybe we can bribe him with Christmas cookies or cranberry bread

Digging out the old fashioned way.  Between last week and this weeks storm snow is definitely pilling up.  I had skiers out at Winter Park last weekend reporting good conditions.  Vilas County snowmobile trails open on Wednesday and Oneida’s trails open on Thursday.  Looks like it will be a good Christmas to New Years conditions for playing in the snow.  I also saw my first crazy Ice Fishermen on Lake Katherine this last weekend

We had about 2 inches of the white stuff come down yesterday.  I took a walk from Wildflower down to the lake catching the first snow in the trees pics of the season.  It was coming down a bit heavy and you can just see across the lake in the back ground.  The snow will be gone soon but it was pretty for a short time.  Supposed to be 56 on Sunday Ohhh a big warm up

It was a slow drive to Minocqua today, I saw one car flipped in the ditch.  We had heard there was a possibility of snow but hearing and seeing are 2 different things.  We always seem to get some on Columbus Day Weekend.

Time to stay in the cabin and light up the fireplace.  Eagles Nest is officially done for the season.
